DC Collectibles DC Comics Icons The Joker (A Death in the Family)

Gee I wonder what The Joker is planning to do with that crowbar...

This here is the Joker based on his appearance in "A Death in the Family" story arc in the comics. The figure has a good likeness to how he appeared then. I like the head sculpt. The longish shape is spot on. The eyebrows, eyes, lips and teeth were very well painted. I don't like the shiny "eyeshadow". I suppose its for making the eyes visible from a distance. I find it looks off though when viewing his face up close. I wish his hat were removable. It's stuck on tightly on his head. He's wearing a trench coat. There's good detail on it. The buttons, button holes and pockets were all sculpted on. There's also wrinkles on it. What I like best is they bothered to sculpt the coat tails of his regular attire on the inside. Very nice! The lines on his pants were also sculpted. The paint apps are great and there are no blemishes to speak of. One thing I don't like is that he appears to be a little bow legged. He looks good overall.

Accessories. He comes a Tommy Gun, a crowbar and three right hands. There's one gripping hand and two gun holding hands. The Tommy Gun has some nice detail and was well painted. I like that they did some black wash on the metallic area. And also on the crowbar.

I don't get why he came with two gun holding right hands. He can grip the Tommy Gun well with the first hand shown below but not with the second. The second hand has a more relaxed grip, a harder trigger pressing finger and thumb pointed up. I would have liked if he had a gripping left hand so he can use the Tommy Gun better.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, ball joint on a hinge hips, double jointed knees, ankle swivel hinge and pivot. He can look down okay but not up. He can spread his arms open really well. The ab crunch does not offer a lot of range. The hinge at the hips can only be brought downwards just a bit. Take care when trying to use the ankle swivel, that is turning the whole foot. The joints are stiff and you need to loosen it first.

Comparison shots.

A nice figure. He should have got at least one extra left hand. Thanks for viewing!

Very nice! I swear I would comment more if you returned the favor.

Disappointed that they gave him the ab crunch but no torso or waist twist. Could have easily hidden it under the coat.

Thanks for always stopping by Hobgoblin!

@MasterSteef - Yup share the same sentiment of torso/waist rotation
