Marvel Legends Series 6" Red Guardian

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Series 6" Red Guardian.

Red Guardian is the Soviet's version of Captain America. I'm not sure which Red Guardian this figure is of. It could be one of several since they wore similar costumes. I read up on the character a bit. I'm thinking this is the Josef Petkus version since he comes with a shield and for the heroic sounding description on the back of the package. The figure is a repaint of Captain America from the Red Onslaught BAF series with a new head sculpt. He looks good. I think he looks better overall than Cap. The belt buckle should be circular in design. I don't mind this too much though. The paint apps are a mixed bag. The stars have clean and straight lines. The belt loops on the other hand are splotchy. I like there's some black wash on his mask and on his chest. It helps break up the plain colour and gives him a bit more of a comic book look. I wish they did some on the back as well.

Accessories. He comes with a shield. It's the same one that came with the Cap Wolf. It's shiny dark red in colour with a well painted silver star in the centre. There's a small circular blemish on the shield which is probably the sprue mark. I had a look at Cap's shield and it's there as well. We just have to think of it as a bullet mark or something. The BAF part is the right leg of Giant Man.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

Red Guardian is a nice figure. Thanks for viewing!
