Star Wars The Black Series 6" Poe Dameron & First Order Stormtrooper (Riot Control) 2-Pack

Watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens tomorrow! Can't wait! The last couple of hours are the hardest to get through. Where's the fast-forward button when you need it.... Anyway here's a look at Poe and the First Order Stormtrooper with riot gear from the 2-pack.

This is the second figure of Poe Dameron in The Black Series 6" line. The first one was the single release with him in his flight suit. He's got a great head sculpt. I think the likeness is good. There's good detail in the hair too. The stubble was painted on. My figure has some brown spots at his chin unfortunately. It makes it look like he just ate something... He's wearing what I think is a Resistance uniform. It has a military vibe to it. The jacket is really nice. This is not a plain simple jacket. It has different sections, patterns, straps and wrinkles on it. The coloured areas were well painted. To top it off it even has some dry brushing on it. Great stuff! His inner shirt too has lots of wrinkles, as does his trousers. The colour of his trousers gradually becomes greenish from his knees downwards. It may have been designed this way or maybe he's in a jungle environment when we see him in this appearance. The boots have subtle texture to them and has a leather like look.

Accessories. He comes with a blaster rifle and a helmet. The rifle has a lot of sculpted detail on it. I think it could use some more paint detail. It does have some dirt marks on the body.

The helmet is nice and has lots of paint detail on it. The paint apps are not the best and there's slop at several areas. The lettering was well done though. The helmet is quite a tight fit on his head. Once on it's a little lopsided. More of the helmet is visible on his left. The helmet has a light yellow visor and a communications mic.

I won't go into detail with the First Order Stormtrooper. He's basically the same figure as what we've seen in the single pack release.

For accessories he comes with the same guns. One weapon may be attached to his right leg at one time.

The main attraction of his accessories are the riot gear consisting of a nightstick like weapon and a shield. The nightstick has some nice sculpted detail. It has good paint too. His grip of it is loose in his right hand. It's slightly better in his left. I would have liked if it were extendible as shown in the trailer. The shield resembles a tray to me with some added bits. The plastic used for it is pretty stiff. Even the straps are stiff. The shield took some fiddling to remove. It's also a bit of a pain to put on. As a result of all that his left wrist has become loose.

Articulation. Poe has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look down well, up not that much. The torso joint allows rotation and not much else.

The Stormtrooper has  got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

I think this 2-pack is a good set to get for the Poe figure. The extra Stormtrooper is welcome. If I were to get another First Order Stormtrooper with riot gear, I'll probably look to the Bandai kit version. That figure looks good and has the riot gear with more features. Thanks for viewing!
