Star Wars The Black Series 6" First Order TIE Pilot (The Force Awakens)

An unexpected find! The Black Series 6" First Order Tie Pilot.

This figure is not new. It's been released previously together with the Black Series TIE Fighter. There the figure is labelled as a TIE Pilot Elite and has red lines running down the helmet. It is very unlikely that I'll buy that vehicle due to it's huge size so I'm happy to have found a regular TIE Pilot to play around with. I like the look of him. The helmet is smaller in size than from the Original Trilogy and he looks more proportionate overall. The helmet is also what spoils it a little for me. It has what looks like a visor at the top which I feel is unnecessary. It's part of the sculpt and is not movable. He wears some armour on the torso, shoulders and forearms. They look similar to that of a First Order Stormtrooper. They, along with the helmet, belt and boots are gloss black which helps them stand out from the black flight suit. The logos of the First Order were very well painted on the shoulder pads. The flight suit is very detailed. You can make out the pockets, seams and padding. The are also lots of wrinkles. On his torso is a chestbox with several switches on it. There's only one tube attachment to the helmet and it's not removable.

Accessories. He comes with a blaster pistol. It is similar to the First Order Stormtrooper's. This one does not have the protruding piece on the side. It is all black in colour and has nice silver paint detail in the middle.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down pretty well and the tube does allow head rotation. I don't suggest turning his head too much though.

Comparison shots.

Great figure! Thanks for viewing!
